Mozambique is the hidden, quiet corner of the East African coast; yet, it has tropical white beaches second to none and top safari destinations, making it an excellent location for those wanting exclusivity and uncrowded wildlife viewing.

There are some top conservation projects that have totally revived reserves such as Gonarezhou National Park (managed by Frankfurt Zoological) and Gorongoza. These reserves are worth visiting for incredible game viewing and scenery.

For me, Mozambique is ideally suited as the icing on the cake of a Southern African safari - some of the remote islands off the coast boast all the best of any Indian Ocean beach getaway with a variety of accommodation options on offer.
